Default Dissemble the lifter

CWizard The anti pumps will not bleed down in my motor when I pull the rocker shafts for the winter. I have a single plane Dove manifold and the holes in the castings where cleaning up before I assemblied the motor. I have just enought move to pull all the lifters without the manifold. A small magnet works great and a 12" long thin screwdriver is all I need to R&R lifters. You need a clean area rags. Remove the horseclip in the center MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GRIP ON IT. Pull the guts apart and clean the oil out of the lifter and reassemble. No brakekleen, just remove the oil. You will have the play back in the plunger. Reinstall the same way you got it out. I have this down to 20 minutes. Make sure you don't damage the clip and it is seated right. The antipumps will not bleed down in my motor, it may work in other motors with less oil pressure. Mine starts at 130 psi and hot runs in the 70's psi. I setup the lifters with a .010" lifter plunger pushed in. If I miss a shift the valves are only stuck open .013" and will not hit anything in the motor like pistons This is my way and may not be the correct way to setup valve trains. Rick Lake
