Some of the older 3550s had set screw on the rear shift rod that would back off making the shifting really loose. Tremec later come out with a roll pin designed that fixed this problem. Pro 5.0 makes a good shifter and sells for about $200. It has travel stops and strong centering springs to improved 2-3 shifts. -Bruce
