There was a recent thread on FordFE.com about it. Porisity issues and some pitting in the cyl walls upon final honing was found. Think the cause was a glue used on the molds that was a releasing agent. Seems to have been deemed the problem. That said my iron Gen block is just fine and was purchased and machined by KCR. There have been some alignment problems that need to be addressed. I'd think most can be handled at the machine shop. Look at some of the oem blocks that had casting problems too. Cam and crank bore alignment, core shift and other things. My hat goes off to these guys for bringing these new blocks to daylight. Tim at Genesis, Robert Pond, Dove and the Shelby guys. Not saying they are all perfect all the time. But nice to have options. The KCR guys did a great job on mine. I haven't seen the blocks in the 07 catalog. 05 or 06 was the last year. I'm sure Ford still gets their cut for the C5AE-H casting number used on the Gen and Pond blocks. Regardless if they sell them or not.
