Bearings for Nascar Crank
I had the same problem, I solved it by renotching the rods on the opposite side of the existing rod notch and using the narrow rod bearings used on a stock width crank.
The notch positioned the bearing in the middle of the rod and worked perfectly.
I have run that engine on the dyno many times along with several 3 day track days as well as 20-30 autox's with no issues. The original bearings are way bigger than necessary for the HP these engines produce (not to mention too large a diameter).
