Changing to a Hurst shifter? How about a different arm shifting the lever? LOL

Just keep practicing. You'll get it. It takes many miles of driving to get the hang of these cars. Stick with the combo that you have and just keep practicing. You'll knock off a couple of seconds. If you keep changing things it just makes it harder to become consistent.
