Talk to Peter or Bob at ERA in New Britain, Ct. Not too far up the road from Virginia to check out their shop. They have some big guys driving their 427's.
They have an extended foot box, can move pedal placement and are alway happy to have visitors. You can see their fabrication shop where they build the chasis and do the fibreglass body layups. And then visit their finish shop where they assemble "rollers", and turnkey cars for customers. They generally have 10 cars (427's and 289 FIA's) on the floor in the finish shop. Their kit price is in the range you mention and it's quality is hard to beat. Their 3" * 4" rectangular tube chasis is an incredible base for a cobra. In my opinion, they engineer their cars like no other. Have fun! Rickd
