Dead soft copper head gaskets are great for their application but not a standard or interchangeable stock replacement. Copper head gaskets are for builds using O-Ringed heads or block as one common use. Copper is a pain in the A$$ compared to composite or shim gaskets and need a re-torque after they are heat cycled. We use them on all blown engines but they are dry blocks so do not worry about coolant seeping, but often will leak on wet blocks at first.
Stick with a good performance type gasket with stainless pressure seal and get the right part number made for use with aluminum heads if so equipped.
