You can use some scratch resistant Lexan which can be cut with a sabre saw. Use your old windshield to trace out the pattern. The chrome frame should unbolt and come apart easily. Use WD40 or something similar if the frame and rubber gasket want to stick. Be gentle. Use Rain-X rather than windshield wipers if you get stuck in the rain. I've read that the scratch resistant Lexan is pretty impervious but I'd be careful. Hope these ideas help.
