I shot pictures of him racing at Monterey for several years, so was surprised when he told me he had an incurable disease....but he was still determined to keep racing as long as he could. In every way, Mac personified the "Gentleman Racer" and also saved the 427 Cobra's reputation now that a lot of people are thinking maybe the 289 Cobra is the better handler.
