The Icicle Creek Inn is a great place to stay; excellent lodging and very good food.
I-90 through Snoqualmie pass is a fun drive as is Hwy 97 through Blewett Pass.
My Favorite, for a two day trip, is Hwy 20 through the North Cascades. We are really blessed with some beautiful scenery. Glad you enjoyed your stay. The next time bring your Cobra.
