Coil overs
I have just been through this saga here with shocks at around US$3847 for a set of custom Bilsteins, which are single tube gas, that have been valved for the car and spring rates!
Konis 2812 double external adjustment race shocks at US$4582 a set, but I was advised to go with the Bilsteins as more people run with them here, and being a Koni fan from wayback I found it hard when Bilstein sent me the shocks with the spherical bushes on crooked and quite untidy units, so since then I have had Bilstein send me just the shock tubes and new bush outers, and we have Tig welded them on properly here, and they can repaint them and assemble, bloody saga..........!
Getting back to shocks, a friend has just fitted a set of QA1 shocks to his Cobra, and from what I can gather they are not really a race shock, but it depends on how serious you want to be, and some racers find them okay, but even the Bilsteins or Konis are not considered to be up there, as serious racers generally use Penske and other brands! Hey you pay for what you get, and having said that a Bilstein or Koni has got to be a lot better than a cheaper brand!!!!
