If your car is registered as a 1965, 66, 67 etc. this may be a way around having a front plate. I found this while searching the Wa. State DOL web site.
Restored license plates:
are good for the life of vehicle.
are not required to display month/year tab.
are not renewed annually.
must be displayed on the rear of the vehicle. If you provide a set of plates, you
may display one on the front and the other on the back of the vehicle.
