I don't think the cam will be going in for the nationals. I'll probably just do the stuff to keep the motor alive for sustained high RPM. I don't want to fall victim to the same misfortune that struck Leigh. These earlier LS1 motors are known to have
oil pumps and rod bolts fail so I want to sort both of them out before pushing the car too hard.
I'll be mainly concentrating on getting my braking and cornering sorted. The car just didn't want to pull up at Winton but I've since changed the front pads for something a bit more aggressive and they work real well. The springs were crap too as the car sagged about 1 1/2" over the weekends racing and to get the chassis level there's a huge difference in the preloads on all 4 corners. I think a set of good quality Eibach springs will need to go in to replace these recycled bed springs that are on it now.
I hope to have some adjustable tubular sway bars built for it by then too.
