Default Mount it on the Motor
The car had the coil mounted on the driver's side fender which was nice until the big block came to life one day and broke an engine mount. The 18 in coil wire pulled out of the coil and burnt the boot on the wire. New engine mounts and all new ignition parts solved that problem. I went thru the same questions on this forum and finally purchased an high vibration coil from MSD and mounted it on the engine. I wraped the coil with electical tape to give the mounting bracket a better grip. No prblems 5000+ miles
