IMHO, you want a lower torque for these cars. For example, look at a nascar engine. They push like 800hp and 400 tq. I'm not saying a cobra should be that drastic, but I would relate torque to traction. The higher the tq, the more you will have to be gentle on the gas to keep from breaking traction.
Like excaliber said about the 600hp and the 500hp... once you hit that limit, your hp and tq figures are just for show and could in fact make the car harder to drive. The idea, unless you are one of those guys who has to have everything better than the next person, is to find that happy medium where you have all the power you NEED, not want (any car guy never has enough), and good driveability.
From my perspective, I have not seen one person complaining about any of the roush engines. They all say nothing but great things and you can't beat a 2yr warranty!
