I'm having an interesting delimna while restoring a 1962 Austin Healey 3000 for a friend/customer. He wants to replace a number of original pieces with 'after market' or 'replica' parts and has no interest in keeping the original bits and pieces.
Suddenly it became clear how someone restoring a Cobra could offer up for sale various original pieces, perhaps years later. My first thought when I see these parts is, "How did that guy get them and why were they removed from the car during the restoration?" Well, it's starting to make sense now! I think I will hold on to the original bits and pieces as the customer does not want them.
Ethics question?
Hmmmm, maybe that original ash tray will find a home in my ERA after all. Same one used in the Cobras you know...
