In order to have 400rwhp in a Cobra, you'd need about 550 engine horsepower. I have dynoed everything from stock 302s, to big inch stroker 351s, to nice big FEs in Cobras. I've had guys with engine dyno sheets in the 550 range, only make just over 400 to the wheels.

Ironically, the most powerfull Cobras I've had on my dyno, are the stroked Windsors. They make more power than even hot FE motors. Of course, the FE's crush them for torque.

In comparison, my 400-425hp 390 puts down a whopping 305rwhp in my CSX . Funny thing is, my car is far from slow .
