Hi Mike,

the fact that my self made F14 tubes use the F7 tube as the basis, with the bottom holes partially covered up and new ones made at the top probably makes a difference.
I say partially, because the sleeve which brings the outer diameter of the tube from 7.5mm to 8.2 covers up all the bottom holes, but the ones at the top of the thick part are directed upwards at an angle, and so come out where the tubed is thinner. The small gap between the sleeve and the thin part of the tube lets some air through.
You can allways drill the center hole in you F16 emulsion tube deeper and drill some holes on the side, at the height where the top holes in the F7 tube are. First you drill 2 and try it out ,then 4 and if that is not enough 8.
It is trial and error here.
How bad is the 3000 rpm leanness? Do you notice it or do you only see it in your O2 gage.
I am using initial 18-20º timing.
