This was a 255 Cu In Indy Engine destined for perhaps Jimmy Clark in 1963. With all the activity on 48 IDAs lately, realize that these are 58 IDA's. They are physically a much BIGGER carburetor. The CFM potential itself invalidates all the theory about sizing.

I don't recall where I got this shot this photo but notice the dog ear in the upper RH corner. "Someone" was close to the action!
