Ned's silver car of old (CSX 2306) is now the bright blue 289 on the far right of the Grandfather Mountain photo above. Ed Maxwell ( my bro), who sold 2306 to Ned in 1972, was on the Tour and got to drive it for the first time in 35 years. I don't think he wanted to give the keys back to Ned. ( and I think he made an unexplained trip to the hardware store before he gave them back).
