Ok, I talked to the Ford mech this afternoon and he said that the throwout bearing is supposed to have pressure on the pressure plate ( approx 7 LBS) and it has been like that since the mid to late 80's like CobraEd said. So with CobraEd's info and confirmed by Ford that is the way that I am going to run my clutch. I am also going to add the 2" long tubing spacer that CobraEd uses.
