Rim width isn't a problem for the modern double wishbone rear ends. It's just you have to run the rear suspension at it's full width as they can prove difficult to narrow. This means you end up with not a lot of dish on the rear wheels or even a positive offset where there's more rim on the inside than the outside.
I wasn't so keen on the look at first but it's grown on me. My rear rims are 11" wide and the tyres are 315/35/17 but it doesn't look like it because there's not a lot of dish on the rear rims.
I think this is the best pic I have to illustrate it. The dish on the rear wheels is the same as the front.
