Question Safety Wire

BEING AN OLD AVIATION TYPE I'M FAMILIAR WITH "SAFETY WIRE" IN THAT OTHER VENUE.

90% OF ALL SAFETY WIRE WAS .032 NI-CHROME (NICKEL-CHROMIUM) ALLOY.

I RECENTLY ORDERED .032 NI-CHROME FROM A VENDOR WHO SENT ME .025 STAINLESS WIRE. WHEN I QUESTIONED THE CHANGE I WAS TOLD THAT THE .025 STAINLESS HAS THE SAME SPECS AS .032 NI-CHROME.

I HAVE A HARD TIME BUYING THAT. DIMENSIONALLY I'M GIVING AWAY 25%, AND I BELIEVE THAT THE STAINLESS IS "SOFTER" EQUATING TO LESS TENSILE STRENGTH.

CAN ANYONE OUT THERE PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME. .025 JUST LOOKS AWFULLY "SKIMPY" (NOW, THERE'S AN ENGINEERING TERM FOR YOU) WHEN HOLDING A WHEEL SPINNER IN PLACE.

THANKS FOR THE HELP,

Y'ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY,

BLACKJACK
