Your B.S. filter is working great. Go with the .041 wire.

You probably already know this, but just in case you don't, after you twist the wire and cut it off, take your pliers and bend the end into a small loop so the sharp end terminates against the wire itself. this will save you the trouble of having to wash all that blood off your wheels.
