I agree with you but when the loss is originally reported to have happened in the evening and then you find out it is at 1:30 in the morning coming home from a party, you just have to think hmmmm.
IF I have to ride my bike at night I like you slow down to a speed where I can see the side roads better to avoid the possibility of a deer or to at least slow down if I see one to minimize damage.
