Default Billet Shifter Upgrade

David,

I'm loving your shifter solution. I've got an SPF with a blown 4.6 Modular engine. It's not an FE but it is a Cobra engine, sort of a modern day decendant.

When I began the build I had the same opinion about the up and down shifting pattern vs the more natural front and back routine. I used a Keisler midshift kit on my TKO600 with an old Hurst supershifter lever to get the more natural shift position. The Keisler shifter has some attributes I don't care for.

Can I disassemble the aluminum circular shifter housing from the original Tremec rear mount reattach it to the new shifter plate that is over the center mount positin and use your billet shifter or does the center mount have different geometry than that used on the rear location shift lever?

Thanks for your inspiration. You guys really define the highwater mark for our toys.

Ed

<edit> When I was looking at Sandwich's decorated wedding version of the Cobra I saw the shifter in his car. That is the right look and I suspect also feel. <end edit>
