That's a great price Pete , What's your car Insured for, comprehensively?

My car is in the construction stage. I contacted Shannons yesterday and they quoted me $295 for a 'Laid Up Policy' to cover it for $30K at the moment while it was being built. As the build progresses, so does the premium.

I also asked them for a quote on $80K, which is what I reckon the car will owe me when it is finally registered and they came up with this magical figure of $906. I thought this was exceptionally high considering that this premium was for 'restricted useage'

I thought your $470 a year was more the figure I was looking for.

I'm 63 in October and have a clear driving record over 46 years. I have my family car, house and contents insured with GIO. Does it make that much difference if you haven't got anything else insured with Shannons?

Do you have any other insurance policies with them?
