A new roller with anything short of a cheapo Ford crate engine and used Tremec (and YOU installing it) won't get close to your quote, Max. You still have local sales taxes, DMV fees, registration, etc. Any SPF done correctly will run in the high 50's to start.
You are correct on the used SPF with 5K for $45K...those deals can be found....during the dead of winter.
Sean, as far as the # of the car you're looking at, I think you're referring to #18xx, which may place it into '03-04 territory. Check the top flange on the headers (at the cylinder heads)...there is date stamp there (day/month/year) and that is somewhat of an indicator of the 'approximate' build time (my car, #747, has a date code of Feb 2000 as a reference, though it could have been built/assembled as early as Dec 1999).
Check the exterior paint really well. The finishes are awesome, but there have been some instances of bubbling and most owners had them warranty repaired (the dealer network stands behind their product quite well).
