Ron - I'm amazed that the friend could not tell the difference between 40 and 80 MPH. Granted, in my Cobra, the speed "looks" about 10 MPH faster that the speedo in city driving. Its probably because I'm closer to the ground as compared to my daily driver.
I always wondered how accurate my speedo (and other gauges) were in my SPF. The gas gauge is way off, but that's a sender problem (per SPF). The temp gauges are OK. But I tried to find a measured mile in my area. Sent e-mail to highway dept and they said there was one about 60 miles from my house! Thanks a lot
Long way to travel. Never got there.
Year before last I had the car dynoed and at full song in 4th gear the speedo indicated 131 MPH when the dyno measured the speed at 130. Close enough for me. I was surprised.
Temp all the way up to 68°F at 11AM. Damn, looks like I'll be forced to take another ride this afternoon.
Of course, I'm going to Tasca Ford car show on Saturday (Carroll Shelby & John Force) and the forecast is for low 90's and humid! Ugh! Hate the humidity.
Steve - you have 98 chances left, so don't waste them.
