You shouldn't feel icky from degreeing a cam in any kind of engine---after all it is a process to make something more exact in a sport (gearhead) where every little thing adds up to more perfection.

These days, many engines don't have a single part from the original brand manufacture, whether it is a Ford, GM, or Mopar----

Just last week we delivered a engine to a GM ( Chev ) fanatic and I asked him if he had always been a GM follower, he answered YES, I told him that long ago I realized that the crankshaft didn't know what the valve covers said and that there wasn't one single piece in his new 540 bbc that was made by GM---Dart block, Callies crank and rods, Edelbrock heads, etc--not a single item---

The same applies to many of the Ford and Chrysler engines we build---there is probably more from Chrysler in the 500 hemis we build but not a single part that was probably ever in a production car---except the Honda rod bearings, maybe----

But back to the thread, yesterday was Monday, and it left me more confused than the usual messed up Monday---I actually talked to a customer care representive from the gas company who was nice, I could understand her, and she could see right away that the 7953 meter reading in June and the zero they had entered as a meter reading a month ago for July and the 7980 cf reading this month didn't actually mean that I had used 10,000cf of gas to run our water heater in July/August=======all that in contrast to the hours and hours on hold, speaking to someone in India about our new HP computer that won't work, transferred to Canada, lost connections, etc

But I did balance an engine, pin fit some rods, hang the pistons and later deliver the engine to a customer---he has a radio talk show on Saturday mornings and my history came up on a recent show and he asked me to be his guest this Saturday morning, so I'll have to get up earlier than usual.
