Byron: what'd you dyno at on Saturday?

And Scott/Tan ... no show at Santana Row? The turnout was a bit larger this time around and the kid with the GT500E came back sporting a pony tail now and maybe a few more tatoo's (hard to tell.)

Well, speaking out of context of this thread, I decided to join one of the groups little ride on Saturday. The contingent only fetched about 9 of us all said and done:

(2) Yellow Gallardo's
(1) Lime/Neon Green Gallardo
(1) Ferrari Modena 360
(1) Ferrari F-430
(1) Lotus Turbo Esprite
(1) Ferrari (wasn't sure; looked like a Berlinetta but I don't know my Ferrari's well.)
(1) Infinity G35
(1) Factory Five Racing MkIII Roadster.

The leads were the Yellow Gallardo's. We stopped first for gas. As we filled up, some bikers stopped to fill as well; the lone woman with their group looked at everyones Ferrari's and Lambo but went straight to me and said "I'd pick your Cobra over any of their cars". Chicks just get it don't they!

We left onto Hwy 17 South trying to get to Saratoga directly but traffic into the mountains came to virtually a standstill at 85 just before the merge so we too off to 85 North and got off at the Evergreen Valley College exit. Then proceeded into Hwy. 9 but was seperated by traffic. Went up 9 to 35 and stopped at the parking lot on top to regroup. The guy in the red Ferrari Berlinetta said he just loved the sound of my V8 bouncing off the mountains side. People were gawking and taking pics while we figured out where to go next.

We headed north on 35 to stop at Alices if anyone was going to do lunch. This time we kept everyone together a lot longer. I stayed in the middle sandwithced between the Red Ferrari BB behind me and the G35 in Front but we had a clear path ahead and OMG, we were doing 100mph on some stretches and to hear V12's blaring in front and behind is something to behold... and at full song. Everytime a Gallardo in front opened up, I tried to keep up. Usually I'd take a bit but I'd stay even by 5,000rpms but he's already pulled a few car lengths by then, but anytime we hit curves, they would let off but I'd just keep going in and would be right on their asses by the end of the apex; yes, these Cobra's can hold it's own. I think one needs to be part of such a caravan to fully appreciate why these exotics are at home on the windy road.

We did somehow get a car between me and the car up front but on one stretch I passed that car and hit 110mph! We get to Alices and all the bikers and everyone else just stared at this little caravan of Ferrari's and Lamborghini's. It just felt a bit surreal to me surrounded by such exotic machinery. We all shook hands and I tried to remember names but I know I'll forget a few.

The final leg was just the 360 Modena, 2 yellow Gallardo and your's truely; we headed north to 92' before everyone went their own ways. I headed back to 280 south and back home.

I know how the "End of the Summer Run" is going to be like now!
