Are you speaking of the Cork gasket strip at the front and rear? Or the actual gasket that seals the manifold to the heads?
If it is the corks ones, many people choose to eliminate them entirely and squeeze a filler strip of black silicone sealant in the gap. Wipe it with your finger to smooth it out and it will be fine. Be sure surfaces are free of oil before doing this.
