ENTDOC Doc a weber style setup will make 10-25 HP and 8-15 ft. of tork in the midrange over a carb. There have been tests done by guys running webers and testing on dynos. Once the webers runout of air flow a carb will pass them by. Lemans GT car would have run webers if not for the gas milage and trying to use the KISS system. Keep It Simple Stupid. 48mm webers on a 427 SO motor, will perform sharper and make more power in midrange. After 6,100-6,300 rpm the party is over. No more air flow. Carb system is simplier and cheaper that a Weber setup. Not alot of guys can setup a weber setup either. You need a couple hundred dollars worth on chokes, jets, tubes, air meters, to get running good. Webers are more sensitive to a motor than a carb. I am going to the 58mm for my next motor, a 498 shelby motor. Rick Lake
