I know several people that use their cobras for daily drivers. So if you can do it I say go for it! As for gas mileage, I average 16 city and 20.8 highway with my 1965 289 bored to 331 which makes 390 HP. Better power and better gas mileage than I got with my 1966 Chevelle in college and significantly better mileage than I get with my 2001 Dodge Durango, which is my daily driver. Using the cobra as a daily driver would depend for me entirely on how long my commute was (and whether or not I could get my insurance company to go for it!).
