Common questions are similar to those asked about my Cobras. These include: What is it?; How long have you had it? (thinking it's a Ford GT); How fast does it go?; Who built it? How much did you pay for it? What model (year) is it? Does it have air conditioning. One question I haven't had asked is, "Is it real?"
As for my response to these questions, I usually end up giving a history lesson on the GT40. Surprisingly, though, most people who ask questions know a lot about the GT40s. Henrys Ford's objective to beat rather than buy Ferrari is legend, so I hear a lot about it when one friend tells another that story.
The best thing about the GT40 is watching the kids. They love the car because it's their size. Watching them peek through the vent window is worth the price of admission . . . almost. Their eyes bug out when I open the door for them to get a good look. They don't ask questions, just stare and say, "Look at all those switches!" Neat.
