I feel your pain. I have been through the learning curve in the past few years. Sometimes I think you can get to much info, and get confused. I talked alot with two guys at Ford Racing. Ray and I forget the other one.
When I bought my BG( which is an easy carb to tune) carb from Four Seconds Flat, he supplied one of the best carb tune guides I've seen. I could also call him for advice when needed. I also installed bungs in my side pipes and bought an Innovate A/F meter. Very helpful.
My engine has had run on since day one no matter what changes I have made. When I shut the engine down, I have the trans in second gear and let it out a bit to kill the engine right away.
