Not to start the Ford Chevy thing, but I will have a go if some one wants to.

The "Ford" Dart block alone weight 75kgs, that is just the block. How much does a LS series engine block weigh?

My car weighs about 1300kgs with half a tank of fuel.

I would expect my car to be heavier towards the front.

The weight of my car is a concern but I have gone thru things that may explain the love handles.

Dart Iron Block
3 Fuel pumps
Steel bellhousing
365mm rotors
Heater/ demister
Power steering, pump, rack, lines, cooler etc etc.
Tail shaft Loop, extra Andra Requirement.


I suppose it is all the little things that add up.
