I fixed the E-Brake today. Unfortunately I was not as lucky as Rwillia4…I could not get the button to screw back on, or even get it started with the handle assembled.
I had to drill out the small 1/8” rivet on the barrel of the handle, remove it and force the spring further into the lever portion of the brake assembly before there was enough “play" to get the button to screw back on. This time I used a little Loc-Tite on the threads. After getting the button on, I re-riveted the barrel and was finished.
It now works great and I know that it shouldn’t come back off, since I used Loc-Tite to lock the threads.
