Default Main seal or oil leak

I have an oil leak (and always have). It looks like it is coming from the rear seal but I'm not sure. The leak only occurs once I have been driving it or the engine has been running. Which makes me wonder if it is a leak from oil under pressure (like the remote oil cooler adapter which does look moist but not dripping wet, yes, I would tighten it but I can't get another half turn out of it without grinding off the corner that is causing a metal on metal contact with the block). I'm talking about a 3" diameter puddle overnight then it stops. It has also leaked while driving leaving the bottom of my car a mess.
Do rear seals leak sitting static? or am I chasing a leak that has traveled to the lowest point on the engine that looks like a rear main seal leak?
