Don, HALF of me says - Look if you want to get a Cobra race team to go after GM/Corvette, go do it. Don't be just a spectator. Negotiate a license deal with Shelby so they make $. Use Shelby contacts to get Ford in the act. They put up $ and support. They get promotion opportunities and end up selling lots more cars. Make $. Pay someone like Panoz to build a car and run the race team. They have the ability to do it right. They make $. Lots more people pay to see ALMS races. More $ for Panoz.
As a kicker, hire Alex Gurney and Derek Hill to drive. Imagine the publicity.
