OK, that's good advice. I ended up putting a strand type wire on the top of the fuel pump where it's bolted on to the frame and pushing the cap over the other end...figure the cap will fit more snugly as well. So far so good though I'm not sure which wire is providing the ground. Does feel like the wires should be held on with a screw though.

Yes, it's a Carter...is there a better pump our there?
