This is a fairly technical question as the Tilton must be setup correctly and maintained to work well. I don’t know what kind of clutch you’re using but with the 53 series, as with any internal hydraulic, it is very important to use a pedal-stop to prevent over-traveling the pressure plate and/or TB, optimum disengagement, smoothest shifting, and helps you monitor clutch wear. Also, make sure you sweep your bellhousing. The Tiltons are very accurate but I had to shim a few thou even after indexing. Keep alignment under .006” and your tranny will be happy.
