Does the flasher attached to the plate the relay is attached to work and of the lights? I have 3 wires, yellow, brown and blue off and a purple, blue and no yellow to attach to. The yellow was not hocked up and the other 2 were. Thank again.

PS; Thanks for the correction on relay vs resistor. Electrical problems and terms always confuse me.
