I put my pumps in the tank
Harrymac I have an ERA car with a simple designed gas tank. I installed 2 255l pumps in the tank and run 2 complete fuel systems to the motor for my FI system. I have 1 main fuel pump and the other is a boost pump for the supercharger and when it comes on boost. I run 2 seperate lines, filters, one way check valves to the fuel rail. I have aloop system and use 1 regulator for pressure and a 3/8" line for return. Both going to the rails are 1/2". I have 50 lbs injectors. I always keep a 1/2 tank of gas in the car for road racing and autocross. There are 2 baffles in the tank and the foam blocks. I know the system is a bit overkill but it's nice to have a backup system right there and only have to flip a switch from 1 pump to the other or both pumps. 1 pump with a 255l rating would cover your car with fuel to spare and if you add, NOS, a supercharger, or turbos, your fuel system will not need any changes. Biggest thing is to keep half of the fuel pump in gas. This cools the pump and makes it last longer than to run the tank dry. I do drain my fuel at the end of the year, run the fuel out of the injector rails, I put stablizer in the system first, run for 10 minutes then drain. I got ahead of myself. Hope this gives you some ideas. I could have mounted the fuel pump on the outside of the gas tank, but it would have to been mount low because the paxton pump doesn't have alot of vacuum to pull the fuel into the pump. The only place to hid the pump is in the rear fender area. You then need shields to protect it. It's just simplier in the tank. Rick L.
