Default Tranny Line

There's a line running from the back of the tranny (TKO 600) that goes forward then up.

It looks like it runs into the dash area. I am assuming that this is either for oil pressure or oil temp.

It is attached to the back of the tranny by a small bracket secured with a 3/8 bolt.

In checking over the car after a run yesterday, I noticed a small amount of seepage traced back to the top of the line that is resulting in drops accumulating at the bottom of that line.

I tightened the 3/8 bolt a few turns and could have kept going except I was concerned that I would bend the small bracket assembly.

The end of the line that attaches to the tranny bracket has a piece of metal crimping. Either crimping is bad or the bracket needed some tightening.

I'll keep watching but until then...

My questions are:

1...What is this line?

2...How tight can this bracket be secured?

3...If I have to replace the line is there anything I should know to prevent a disaster?

Thanks for your input,
Ivan
