Good point Stephen, I think I lot of people(me included) fit them mostly for looks though.

You can just use small bolts through that internal inner guard wall to affix.

Or screw through the brake duct flange, inside to outside to affix mesh. Gives a more vintage/original look. Although a bit tricky to do. My current Cobra is done this way.
