Q: "Is it real?"
A: "Yep, it's a new one. Made exactly the same or (if it is true) better in lots of ways."

Not a lie. Not misleading. Certainly lawyers ought not call it misleading.

Q: "Is it Original?"
A: "Nope, it's a new one. But, it is exactly the same as the original. (Or, variously, it is even better than the original! Bigger motor! All Aly motor! More Power! Lighter! Better transmission! Less emissions!"

Q: "Is it a copy?"
A: "Nope. It is a new real Cobra from Shelby, made the same way or blah, blah ..."

Q: "Is it really a Shelby?"
A: "Sure it is. It is a new one, just like the old ones, (or) better in some important ways."

Viz: Owners of modern Shelby Cobras should remove the word Original from their vocabulary, i might suggest. It isn't helpful to themselves or any questioner, except to distinguish the degree of original design items chosen in the parts list. For instance, no originals were sold with a polished aly finish, that i recall. That finish wouldn't be original. (Yes, i remember that the first motor mag test car was repainted several times to hide the fact of its singularity.) Ventilated brake discs are not original. Double roll bars are not original, though they were fitted by a very few owners for latter-day SCCA racing when the rules changed safety requirements.

Current Shelby Cobras are certainly real Shelby Cobras. i don't see them as continuations or clones or extensions. Yes, they are different some. Some much different. Some identical or as nearly so as humanly possible. They are not originals.

Similarly, late 1960's, 1970's, 1980's and 1990's AC Cobras are real AC Cobras. (IMO, "AC" Cobras made by any companies after the AC Cars Limited [England] company's demise are not real "AC" Cobras and those companies were instructed by FORD [the current owner of the copywritten automobile name Cobra] NOT to call them any sort of Cobras. Ergo: The Magnificent SuperBlower, oft confused with the then asset owner's rather unconvincing presentation style.)

Explain again to me where the confusion lies in this classification?
