Default Need your thoughts - Changing Wheel color

I am finally at the point that to paint my wheels. There are the original 6 pin hubs from ERA. I don't know who makes the wheels and if they were powder coated or painted that gray color. In short, I would like them a dull black and shinny up the outter rims

Question...any last thoughts from anyone on whether they should be painted our powder coated?

I have been told that powder coating will come out a lot nice and will hold up well. I have also been told they would not effect the wheel. I like this idea b/c I don't have to mess with them and someone with the right tools can polish them up for me.

On the other hand, some say the heat with powder coating can damage the wheel so I should just paint them. I could go this route but it sounds like a lot a work...to scuff them up, paint and polish etc. I had planned on going this route but I have a couple fo quotes to PC them for anywhere from $30- $50 a wheel...seems like a reasonalble amount for me not having to mess with them.
