I have an Autometer Sport-Comp electronic. The main advantage is being able to calibrate the speedo to any rear/tire setup using the calibration procedure. Using the mechanical gauge, you could play with it for months, trying this ratio adapter, and that ratio adapter trying to dial it in. But, you have to buy the speedo, and a sending unit for about double that of a mechanical unit.
You can have it good, cheap, and fast, but you can only pick two.
