THE RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE THAT BROUGHT US A PERIOD OF SUNNY DAYS
WILL SHIFT WEST OVER THE WEEKEND BRINGING A CHANGE IN THE WEATHER
SUNDAY INTO NEXT WEEK. A COLD WEATHER SYSTEM FROM THE GULF OF ALASKA
WILL MOVE THROUGH THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND INTO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
ON SUNDAY INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK BRINGING PERIODS OF CLOUDS...BELOW
NORMAL TEMPERATURES...AND RELATIVELY LIGHT PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS.
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM THE SINGLE DIGITS TO 20S IN
THE MOUNTAINS...AND MAINLY IN THE UPPER 20S TO 40S IN THE INTERIOR
VALLEY AS THE COLDER AIR SETTLES IN BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.
SNOW LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE FOOTHILLS AND POSSIBLY DROP
EVEN LOWER BY TUESDAY MORNING WITH THIS COLD SYSTEM. THE COLD
TEMPERATURES WILL BRING DRY AND POWDERY SNOW WITH ACCUMULATIONS LESS
THAN 2 INCHES EXPECTED AT THE LOWER ELEVATIONS AND POSSIBLY UP TO A
FOOT ABOVE 7000 FEET BY TUESDAY MORNING.
MOTORISTS TRAVELING INTO THE FOOTHILLS AND MOUNTAINS THIS WEEKEND
INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR COLD TEMPERATURES AND
WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS.
